🇺🇸Bangladesh Jute & Burlap Supplier to the United States

The United States is one of the largest and fastest-growing markets for natural jute — where the woven fabric is known as burlap rather than hessian. From coffee and specialty-food sacks to landscaping, erosion control, home décor and craft, American buyers are moving from synthetics back to natural jute. Wahab Jute Mills supplies them mill-direct from Khulna: burlap rolls, jute yarn, twine, rope and raw fibre, with the documentation and lot-to-lot consistency US importers expect.

Burlap, not hessian — speaking the US market's language

In the US, the woven jute fabric the rest of the world calls hessian is almost always called burlap, and weight is quoted in ounces per square yard (for example 10 oz burlap) rather than GSM. We quote both, convert any spec to whichever unit your buyer uses, and label shipments to match US purchasing conventions so there is never ambiguity about what you ordered.

Products we export to the United States

Burlap (hessian) fabric — rolls in widths and weights to spec, natural or laminated
Jute yarn — all counts and plies
Jute twine and rope — bulk and wholesale
B-twill and food-grade jute sacks
Raw jute fibre — BTR and BWR grades

Shipping, ports and transit times to the US

We load at Chattogram (Chittagong) and Mongla and ship to every major US gateway. Typical port-to-port transit runs about 30–40 days depending on coast and routing.

East Coast — New York/Newark, Savannah, Norfolk, Houston: ~30–38 days
West Coast — Los Angeles/Long Beach, Oakland: ~32–40 days
Documents: Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, Phytosanitary Certificate
FOB Chattogram or CIF to your nominated US port; settlement in USD by L/C at sight or T/T

Duties, HS codes and food-contact compliance

Most jute products enter the United States at low or zero duty, but the exact rate depends on the product and its HTS classification — which we help you confirm before you order.

Common HS headings: burlap fabric 5310, jute yarn 5307, jute sacks 6305.10, raw jute 5303
Food-grade burlap and coffee sacks can be supplied to suit FDA food-contact and FSMA expectations — specify the end use
Every spec quoted in both oz/yd² and GSM
Good to know: For coffee importers and roasters: we regularly supply food-grade jute coffee sacks and can align lining, printing and documentation with US food-contact requirements. Tell us your green-coffee volume and we will spec it.
